BHS Cheer Booster Club Meeting April 20, 2009 The BHS Cheer Booster Meeting was called to order by Shawn Goodnight, president at 6:40 p.m., in Coach Hoberer’s room on Monday, April 20, 2009. Shawn Goodnight addressed the cheer parents regarding: Role of Booster Club: Purpose of BHS Cheer Booster Club was explained that this organization shall promote and support the BHS Cheerleading Program by providing financial assistance through fundraising projects and future operational educational activities. Discussed topics were that all questions come thru the secretary who will then in turn discuss with the coach. Also that the cheerleaders discuss any problems that they may have directly with the coach. The coach has the final decision on all cheerleading matters. Bylaws: It was noted that everyone received the bylaws via email. It was also noted that any amendments to the bylaws will be discussed at the next booster meeting. Fundraising: Discussed the importance of fundraising. Further discussions of all fundraising will be addressed at next booster meeting. Sponsor Report: Coach Hoberer gave us her three rules for the cheerleaders: 1) School Rules and Texas law rules apply to all cheerleaders 2) Respect for all, i.e. school, teammates, teachers, parents, etc. 3) Work hard and be positive Coach Hoberer also discussed summer camp in Corpus Christi , big sis/little sis, fundraiser, practices being mandatory, uniform fitting and camp gear. Wendy Uzzle will be the Assistant Coach Election of Officers:President: Louis Scotti – nominated by A.J. Hoenes, Unanimous vote by Booster members Parliamentarian: Mark Gil – nominated by Mercy Gil, Unanimous vote by Booster members BHS Cheer Booster Club MeetingJune 1, 2009The BHS Cheer Booster Meeting was called to order by Louis Scotti, President at 6:35 p.m., at Shady Hollow Community Center on Monday June 1, 2009. President: It was noted by Louis Scotti that there was a quorum present. The President noted that the ByLaws are approved as published. Louis also addressed that the Agenda will be sent out via email 2 days prior to each Booster Meeting. The July 13th Booster Meeting was discussed and a motion was made by A.J. Hoenes and seconded by Claire Groves that the meeting would take place in conjunction to the July 19th Social at the Scotti’s home. Sponsor Report: It was noted by Lisa Hoekwater that the Coach was not in attendance as she had a meeting at school at the same time. The discussion of camp gear came up and the majority voted to not make the second installment on camp gear until they had an invoice outlining what was purchased. Also discussed was the fact that a lot of the kids uniforms did not fit. It was noted that either Sharon Scotti or Lisa Hoekwater would talk to the coach about this issue and try to resolve the problem as soon as possible so everyone still had time to alter their uniforms if needed. Fundraising: Wendy McPherson discussed the following: À How successful the car wash was and that $810.00 was made; À Canceling the June 6th car wash; À Decal/Yard Sign Sales and orders not being due until Bulldogs & Hotdogs; À UCA Bags – sign up sheet will come out in weekly newsletter; À Will stuff UCA bags at Kiddie Camp and to bring items on Monday of camp and À Discussed the order forms for shirts from Billy Seymour. Claire Groves discussed the following for Kiddie Camp: À As of now there are 86 kids signed up; À Claire will pass flyers out at Dance Camp and will send to Lisa Hoekwater to attach to weekly newsletter; À We need a lot of volunteers as we do not have enough; À We need many more crafts. So far we have only 3; and À We need toilet paper rolls and Sharon Scotti asked for donations for small cokes, waters, gatorade to sell at the concession stand.

Varsity Jacket Coordinator: Tina Mallory gave an overview about the Varsity Jacket and the forms that were handed out. New 1st VP-Activities: Wendy McPherson talked about the various volunteer sign up sheets and it was suggested that we give a description of the volunteer positions at the next meeting. New Treasurer: Sharon Scotti talked about the Megaphone bag parents could purchase and showed a sample of the bag, let parents know they could sign up at the table. A.J. Hoenes made a motion to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Leeann LaBorde. Meeting was adjourned at 7:57 p.m. Important Dates: May 4th – Uniform and jacket fitting May 4th - Next Booster meeting Shady Hollow Community Center May 11, 12 & 13 – Cheer Clinic May 26 – 29th – Popcorn Fundraiser July 19th – Parent/Cheerleader Social – 2:00 – 4:00 pm at The Scotti’s (3913 Lost Oasis Hollow) August 3 – 6th – UCA Camp Corpus Christi Lisa Hoekwater BHS Cheer Booster Secretary BHS Cheer Booster Club MeetingAugust 24, 2009 The BHS Cheer Booster Meeting was called to order by Louis Scotti, President at 6:33 p.m., at Shady Hollow Community Center on Monday, August 24, 2009. President: It was noted by Louis Scotti that there was a quorum present. The President asked to adopt the June minutes as published and a motion was made by LeeAnn LaBorde and seconded by Irene Kale to adopt the June minutes as published. The President also presented a plaque to LeeAnn LaBorde for her contributions to the Bowie Cheer Booster. Sponsor Report: Coach, Shannon Hoberer discussed the following: ~ Strength & Conditioning Workouts – Monday & Thursdays; ~ Practices will end at 5:30 p.m.; ~ Cheerleaders will stay after pep rallies on Thursdays for practice; ~ All Cheerleaders will ride the bus home after games; ~ Pep Rally Themes; ~ Parents and Cheerleaders need to read the rules & regulations again, and note that drugs, tobacco & alcohol will not be tolerated; ~ Discussed demerit system; ~ Camp Gear is complete. Treasurer: Sharon Scotti distributed the Income Expense Report from Kiddie Camp that showed a profit of $24,033.94. Fundraising: Claire Groves discussed the levels of the Sponsorship Drive. Debbie Povec showed the two beautiful quilts that she has made to donate for a raffle at Bulldogs and Hotdogs. President, Louis Scotti noted that if everyone could raise $500 each we would be set for Nationals. Also if everyone would notify Tina Mallory of the business that they would be asking for donations/sponsorship so she could put that on the website. Coach Hoberer & Coach Uzzle discussed the sale of spirit ribbons (only on game days) for the entire season. Wendy McPherson talked about receiving orders for the decals & yard signs and selling these at Bulldogs & Hotdogs. Mark Gil spoke of the items that will be sold at Bulldogs & Hotdogs and distributed a list for sign up slots. Secretary: Lisa Hoekwater talked about the 1st tailgate and reminded parents to bring their own chairs. New Business: Cris Parker discussed moving the Booster meetings back to Bowie. Cris Parker made a motion and it was seconded by Diane Jones to move the meetings effectively immediately to Coach Hoberer’s Room, E203 on Tuesday, September 1, 2009. The motion carries. Debbie Povec made a motion to adjourn the meeting and it was seconded by LeeAnn Laborde. The meeting was adjourned at 7:32 p.m.
